I had four companies give me quotes on rebuilding my deck. One did it over the phone, three came out to meet with me. Of those three, two were interested in just "the bare minimum" information, to get the job done. Nick was the only one who asked a lot of questions and shared ideas he had for improvements.

With Nick's questions and suggestions, I could tell a few things. One, he had experience and that is important. Two, he's thinking about the project and what I might want and what it would take for him to do it, rather than just "bidding on a job". And three, his goal is NOT to just come in and slap up a new deck and move on to the next one. He wants to do quality work that the customer will be very happy with.

So, I hired him and I'm glad I did. Nick is skilled and he really cares about the quality and detail of his work. He shares ideas and gives options and points out things that need to be done and tells you the reasons...

Also, he did ALL of the work himself. The reputation of his company comes from what he does, not from other people he hires to do it for him.

If you want someone to hire a bunch of people and slap together your deck in a couple of days, don't go with Nick. If you want someone who really cares about giving you a product you can be happy with, then give him a call.

Nick didi an excellent job of selecting materials and completing the job for a professionally-looking outcome. He has a great eye for design and

craftsmanship.

Nick provided services that were more than outstanding, and exceeded my expectations. It’s all thanks to my friend who recommended him to me. We hired him to do a basic remodel on our bathroom. All new flooring and a vanity, along with some painting in there as well. In the midst of that, realizing how good he was doing we decided to discuss other future projects we were interested in. Weeks later Nick returned to do a fabulous job remodeling our porch, without spending over our budget and making it a great new aspect of our house. Our new porch is finally beautiful and inviting to our family and guests. Later this year he will be returning to provide an estimate on our kitchen remodel because we were so pleased with his work.

We were so fortunate to find Nick to build our deck. We were not sure what we wanted and he had great ideas. He built it from the ground up and used Trex. He is very professional and friendly. He is a perfectionist and made sure all the product was perfect and took care to build us an excellent forever deck. I would recommend him for any job you might have. Nick is an exceptional carpenter...we had our 25 year old wood deck refurbished with Trex composite boards and Trex rail system...I am particular, I want what I want...and Nick delivered! All supports were shored up and the deck looks like something out of a magazine! Truly stunning job. To say we are satisfied customers is putting it mildly. Nick did an complete kitchen remodel on a 1981 kitchen. He basically gutted the room and put in new cabinets, flooring, windows, new molding, light fixtures as well as tile back splash. He also painted the walls including covering pine paneling on the lower half of the eating area. He did all the work himself. He really transformed an ugly room into a calm and peaceful room that I really enjoy. His was not the least expensive quote I received but he did really good work.

Changed cartridge i n a faucet and other work. Super work. A A very knowledgeable tradesman. He does not try to BS the home owner but is honest and will give an honest opinion.

Nick Polas installed a new deck for us. He demonstatrated great attention to detail and pride in his work. The deck is beautiful.

I was entertaining options as to what to do with my 25-year-old deck. Nick suggested the option of replacing the old deck with new lumber, making use of the existing support structure, Since it was still sturdy. We ran into some weather issues and other bumps in the road, so it took slightly longer than planned but the finished product is excellent. It’s like having a brand new deck at a fraction of the cost. Nick is a perfectionistic carpenter and makes sure that the job is done right. He is now doing some dry wall repair for us, and I will be keeping him in mind for future work. Nick is trustworthy and that means a great deal to us.

Called Nick and he responded right away. Asked lots of specific and pertinent questions to help me determine whether he was the right fit and whether I understand the task at hand because I was consider this as a DYI. He also took the initiative to do a bit of research and helped my find the right water heater that is a better fit to replace the one that broke. Eventually, I asked Nick to come and help. He came at 3 and worked pretty deliberately--making sure that things were done the right way. Although he was a bit under the weather the next day, Nick came back on Sunday to work and finish the job. Overall, a reasonably positive experience. I learned a lot watching Nick replace the old and put on the new water heater. He talked me through the process.

Nick did an outstanding job replacing our hot water heater. I called on a Saturday and Nick responded within 30 minutes. I mentioned I was going in for open heart surgery on Monday and we needed it before I came home from the hospital. He coordinated with my brother as to the best time and on Thursday Nick delivered, installed and took the old one away. It was amazing that he was able to work with our schedule. His pricing was infinitely better than the big box retailer we had originally gone too. His work speaks for itself. A very professional and clean installation. He has followed up several times and I would recommend Nick without reservation for any project. We have a small bathroom remodel project in the near future and it goes without saying Nick will be our choice. Thanks Nick...oh and he’s a super nice man also.

Nick was wonderful and did a beautiful job on my kitchen tile backsplash. He was always prompt and meticulous, and cleaned so well when he was finished you never knew he had been there. I left him alone in my home many times without worry. His integrity and skill are first rate.

Nick of A&N Home Improvements and Repairs did a really amazing job of putting in a new tile floor in my bathroom! He knew how to repair some structural problems with the existing floor and made a formerly-disgusting bathroom look modern and bright with a symmetrical tile pattern. Nick also provided very helpful suggestions for making the room look better, like using dark grout to contrast the white tile. He replaced my outdated light fixture with an attractive new one to make the room brighter. I highly recommend him based on my great experience with him and his work.

Nick did a great job on my above garage apartment remodel. He installed Pergo flooring as well as installed a new sink/vanity and corner shower. Nick's attention to detail ensuring all items were installed and assembled correctly was top notch. In addition, Nick was always patient and professional. I would definitely contact Nick in the future for other home improvement / repairs.

Our experience with Nick was great. He completed his (excellent) work on budget and within a timely fashion which has helped transform our home. He completed tile work in a bathroom, painted our front door and several rooms, and performed some minor construction work. He seems to be a perfectionist and even went above and beyond the call of duty in helping TWC move a cable line so we could mount a TV on a wall. We plan to have him back shortly to complete some additional work.

I've been working with Nick on an assortment of carpentry and other repair tasks while turning around a rental property. Nick's been a pleasure to work with, always honest and very meticulous in his work. I'll look forward to our continuing to work together in the future.

Nick came out to help me with a sliding glass door that was no longer sliding. He kept in touch with me to let me know his time-frame and what time to expect him and was upfront about his fee and a fair estimate of how much time it would take to complete the job. He came with all tools necessary to do the job and then some. Very professional and courteous.

Nick is reliable. He helped put up a lot of shelves for us. He took his time, measured the closets properly and did the job well. He even fixed our leaking washer, the outlet was clogged and the input pipes were not fixed properly. He helped us bring in some furniture with his truck. He mounted our TV on the wall properly. If you have odd jobs, you can rely on Nick. He charged some jobs by the hour and some jobs by the job itself. He is reasonable. We would certainly vouch for him

Nick came on short notice and did a huge and difficult job for me. His work is excellent and his demeanor is only professional.

Nick has helped me fix several problems in our house. He fixed a major plumbing problem that involved pipes that were installed improperly that caused frequent stoppage and back flow into the dishwasher. Two other repairmen failed to correct the problem. After Nick got this fixed, he is the only one I will use for any future issues. Plus, he is an extremely nice guy and exceptionally friendly and accommodating. i recommend him without hesitation.
